Feeding the ducks....

The kids had a GREAT time!! We fed them bread, tortillas, goldfish and fruit loops!
Then we read the sign that said you are not supposed to feed the ducks!
But hey, we weren't the only ones!!

Rebecca's reunited

Becky and I met up at the Children's Museum... with all 5 kids in tow!

The last time we were here was for my reunion 2 years ago...

The kids had a great time!

Becky and I got to catch up... it has been forever! We had a great time at the museum, then we went to lunch for some great Mexican food. The next day, when we were headed out,
we even got to eat Rosa's together!!

Our old house...

OK... those of you who have known me forever know that somewhere in this picture is the house I grew up in. The trees have gotten HUGE and cover and very large house back there. I am still baffled by the fact that they thought painting a red brick house white was a good plan, especially in the middle of red dirt!!! Oh well... one day I would LOVE to revisit this house...

Family time in Midland

Grandpa Bill drove over from Ft. Stockton to see us!
The kids were so excited to see him and I was as well!!
We got dressed and headed in to get coffee and breakfast at McDonald's. The girls played on the indoor playground for about thirty minutes while we just sat and talked. It was really nice just to have some time with Grandpa Bill... we just talked!
Then we headed to ClayDesta to see mom. The kids loved the water and the animals. I remember playing there when I was little... and we ran around everywhere. I was a little more strict than mom was on us about running and playing.

But they had fun! The pictures in ClayDesta aren't great because I left my camera at Melinda's so I had to use the cell phone!!! Of well, they are still good memories!
Grandpa headed back out to Melinda's with us to rest. The kids went down for a nap and so did Grandpa. When he got back up, we talked some more and said our good-byes. He headed back to Ft. Stockton for a dr's appointment. I love that my kids get to know their 90 year old great grandpa! We love him so much!

Melinda and family

We got to Melinda and Jason's about 6pm Saturday evening... not bad timing and the kids were GREAT in the car. We didn't even have to stop for gas!!!

The two big sisters with their little siblings!!
Now how cute are they, holding hands and everything!!
Can you tell that they LOVE to jump... and jump... and jump!

Our pretty little girls!
And their pretty mommies!! Melinda and I have been best friends since high school...

GSD and GSM

The kids and I set off an a Spring Break excursion! We left here early Saturday morning (planned to leave Friday night, but that didn't happen) and headed to West Texas. Since it was about 1/2 way, we stopped in Bangs, Texas and met up with some great family members. Jeff and Kathy Marugg used to live in Midland. Kathy taught at my high school and somewhere along the way, they became my surrogate parents (hence the names SD and SM). They saw me through thick and thin, up and downs. Some how green beans and cysts on my wrist became very interesting subjects when combined!! They taught me to love Lime and Chili chips and held me when I cried the night that Jip got killed. It seems like they were always there, yet I honestly don't remember how it all happened... but I digress. David and I stayed with them in Midland in 2006 or 2007 but not since, so they haven't met any of the kids. Well, now they have met all 3! We met at Subway for lunch and then got to go to their new house in Bangs (in the rain). Since it was pouring, the horses were hiding and the kitties were too, but the girls colored while SD, SM and I got to catch up some.
The stop was WELL WORTH IT!! I sure do miss them... glad we got to meet up!

Here she comes!!

Kaylah Ann has started school! She is going to Jump 2 Learning at Powersports Tuesdays and Thursdays with her buddies Juju, Jojo, Charlie and Ian.

She was so excited and ALL READY to go!

Mommy and Daddy about to walk her in on her first day!

She just walked in and took over the place! Didn't even bat an eye when we left...
my little girl is getting so big... sniff, sniff...

Armadillo Dash year 3

So I started running the Armadillo Dash in 2010, when Kaylah was almost a year old. I had been running a little then and had started training for my half marathon later that year. I finished my first 5K ever in 30:30... not too bad for a 31 year old! I followed that up with a duo with a biking partner in April. Then, in Nov of 2010 I completed my first 1/2 marathon. I was all about running... then 2011 hit and I completed the Armadillo Dash in March in 31:47... not my best time but in all fairness, I was 9 weeks pregnant (yet no one but David and I knew!). That was the last time I really ran... until Armadillo Dash 2012! I have been doing boot camp and zumba but not running more that around the park at school. SO... no real running under my belt, I finished in 31:27. Not too bad! But Mrs. Edna Alford was kicking butt and I just couldn't keep up in the end!!
