Spring Break 2010

Spring break started out with the parade on 1960 with LeAnn and Craig. Monday we hung out at the house and cleaned. Megan came to play for a while. I got all of Kaylah's 6-9 month clothes packed up to send to McKenna and finally got all of Kyndahl's 18month clothes out of her closet and into the attic. Most of them still fit her, just kinda short... just had to get them out so could really wear her 2T stuff. I cleaned a lot but looked and felt like I didn't do much!! Tuesday we went to baby boot camp and then to the Children's museum with the Michaelson's and the Peacher boys. Fun was had by all!! Kyndahl and Kaylee loved shopping as they were born to do!! They also did a great job painting. Kara and Kaylah loved the mirrors, as does Richard Anthony. Charlie loves to pose for the camera... as does Kaylah!

















Tuesday the Scrimpshire's came to B/CS to play. We just hung out at the house and let the kids go crazy... well just play with all the toys. We loaded up for some Freebirds in the rain before they headed to campus for a quick tour before heading back to Houston. Wednesday we decided to load up and head to Austin to see G-ma and Papa Chuck. Thursday we hung out at G-ma and Papa Chucks napping and looking at the animals. It was a great relaxing time. Then we headed home to have dinner with Aunt Re, Uncle Ryan and baby Reesey.


Friday Grandpa came for a visit. It was nice to get to see him. The girls were in good moods and got to play for almost an hour before they had to head off to take naps. After they rested, we pulled some weeds in the front yard then went to Aunt Marilyn' s and Uncle Tom's house for a visit. It was so great to see them and just sit and talk.

Saturday we went to a wedding shower for one of David's cousins in the rain, then came home to nap and relax the rest of the day away. Sunday was church and a visit from Nana and Papa G. Both girls started feeling yucky on Sunday as did I. We all have coughs and runny noses. But all in all, spring break was great. We got to see lots of friends and family members!!! Now it is back to the real world... two weeks until a Good Friday day off and then 9 weeks after that, SUMMER!!!!! We can make it!!

We spent our usual Tuesday night at Chick Fila for kids night. Each week they have a kid's activity and with each adult meal you get a free 4pc nugget meal. Kyndahl LOVES it! They have had the cow there, face painting, puppet shows and this week they had sunflower planting. She loves to "make" each week. Kaylah can't eat the food yet, but she loves to go and watch everything happen. Then we head into the playroom for Kyndahl to slide before we head home... fun is always had by all!!

I ran my first 5K here in B/CS. The Armadillo Dash... I did pretty good for my first one! 30:30 and came in 30th in my division. That's a 9:47 average minute. I came in 183rd out of over 600 runners!!! Not too bad... but I did have a great time! Can't wait for my next one!

The girls....

Kaylah has not been feeling great lately. She has a cough that is actually finally starting to sound better. The dr put for on a prescription for a "sinus" infection. Apparently babies don't really have sinus cavities yet but it's where her throat meets the tubes for her ears. There was a little fluid in her right ear but not bad. She sleeps great from 630pm until about midnight and then all bets are off! Last night she was up fussing from 3am-445am which means, so was I. Yes up and fussing! She is still really happy through out the day but since Saturday night, is up A LOT all night! Saturday night I think the three of us got about 2 hrs total! It is not fun but I am out of ideas! I hold her, she sleeps as long as I am in the rocking chair. But really that only lasts for an hour or so. She won't even go to sleep on my chest in the bed or next to me in the bed! Finally last night, I laid her in her bed and she cried from 4:15-4:45 and finally cried herself to sleep!! I FEEL HORRIBLE when she does that! But I had to get her to sleep somehow! Monday night I nursed her each time she got up but that still didn't help so last night I only nursed her at her normal 1am feeding time. Who knows... maybe tonight will be better??? Here's to sleep!!


Kyndahl is officially potty trained!!! YES! I AM DOING A HAPPY DANCE!! She did have a poo poo accident yesterday but it was while she was taking her nap. She was very distraught when she got up but she was reassured that it was ok since she was sleeping! She put on her big girl panties and promptly said, "we don't poop in these panties"! It took forever it seems but we are finally done! I know she will have accidents from time to time but now she really knows when to tell us she has to go potty!! She is also very literal about EVERYTHING and is a parrot of anything anyone says! Some of the latest Kyndahlism: 1)While at Kaylah's dr appt I had put Kyndahl's hair in pigtails and then braided each one. Lady next to us tells her, "I like your ponytails" to which Kyndahl says, "They are braids!!!". 2) Kyndahl is eating nuts. Holds one up to Grams and says. "What's this?" Grams replies, "A nut". Kyndahl states, "NO Grams, its a cashew!!!". 3)A little old but still so her!! After a potty accident, Grams, "Kyndahl did you go poop in your pants", Kyndahl replies, "No Grams, in my diaper!".. DUH!!!

Gotta love them both!!

Sleeping like a baby??

Silly baby has started to fight sleep a little... so when she sits up in her crib and plays or fusses, she ends up falling asleep like this! The one in color David actually went in there and turned the light on to take the picture. The other one is through the video monitor. Can't be comfortable!!!

Congrats Kathy!!

Not the best picture my camera has ever taken but you get the gist of it right?!?! Kathy passed her real estate test and so we all met at On the Border to celebrate! It was a great time with friends... without kids! We love the little ones so much but it is hard to carry on an adult conversation when most of us have two little ones to chase now!! Congrats again Kathy!! Good luck!

Just found this picture... this was the "snow" we got while JJ was getting 50 inches... Funny how different our views of things really are.

Where did the weekend go??

Friday night feels like ages ago yet the weekend went way too fast! Friday night we loaded up the girls and headed to J Cody's since I have been really wanting BBQ. We had a nice quite dinner even though K2 was a little fussy and ready for bed. Headed home so we could get the girls down before David had to head back out to work. Seems like I should have gone to bed early but that didn't happen.

Saturday the girls were up pretty early so we played around the house as usual while Daddy worked. When he got home after nap we headed to Goodwill!!! I now have new jeans and black pants that fit!!! Grams texted while there to tell us they were headed to our new Cracker Barrel to eat... not David's favorite but he agreed to try since it just opened!! They had lots of cute outfits for the girls for Easter! We got sat pretty quickly considering and had two tables pushed together. That means two waiters literally fought over us and ended up "sharing" us... which means one always thought the other was going to get what we needed. Our food came out and mine was great. David got a well done hamburger that actually came out almost "mooing". We sent it back and it never came out again! We finally got it in a to go box as we got up to leave to payout! Needless to say, he won't be revisiting there any time soon! Again, we headed home to get the girls to bed. Kaylah slept HORRIBLE!!! so did we!

Sunday girls were up early so we got dressed and headed to the early church service. Kyndahl decided to go to the nursery instead of big church. She made a tambourine and really enjoyed it. She came back to big church for the last few songs and danced! Kaylah was good as usual but really tired. So home to nap for all... well poor little bit still didn't sleep for longer than 45 mins! All up to get dressed for Elice's baby shower. Re, Ry and Reese got there as we were all getting dressed. We all piled in our suburban to drive to the shower.... 45 mins later we found it in the middle of nowhere and nowhere where we thought it was! It was good to see Elice and Cody! 3 more weeks til baby Kimber is here. Now to load back up and head back into town, without the scenic route! Cheryl was in town so she wanted to see the girls... Finally got K2 to bed about 630... she didn't really sleep.... so we didn't either! Up late and have a dr appt scheduled for this afternoon.... think its an ear infection to go along with the lovely cough she has! And it is Monday again!!

Snow in College Station

This is the huge snow storm that had us starting school late Tuesday! Not even 2 inches and gone by lunch the next day because it was 54! But the girls loved it. Kyndahl could not believe that it was snowing at HER house!
